GET TO WORK
The Sundance Channel’s series GET TO WORK is an unfiltered, uncompromising look at STRIVE, an organization dedicated to getting America back to work. In the wake of the economic downturn – when unemployment remains high and government funding for job training is on the wane – GET TO WORK offers a fresh approach to real, lasting change. By giving them the tools to take control of their lives, this program transforms them in dramatic and surprising ways.
GET TO WORK takes you inside this hardcore back-to-work boot camp that serves the chronically unemployed – jobless, directionless, and hopeless people who are just clinging on for survival. Most of them think they’ve come to the end of the road, but here they are offered a new beginning. The instructors not only train people, they reinvent them – completely breaking them down in order to build them back up with new skills and new dreams. But, with bad habits and bad attitudes to contend with, they must exercise equal parts understanding and iron will to make these transformations complete.
On every episode of GET TO WORK, meet a new class with no prospects for today as they labor to build a better life for tomorrow. Will they succeed and take the first hopeful step towards the future, or will they be thrown back into the harrowing realities they’re trying to escape? No one said it’s going to be easy.
GET TO WORK is filmed at STRIVE’s San Diego affiliate, SECOND CHANCE. The eight-episode series premieres Monday, August 13th at 10:30pm ET/PT on the Sundance Channel.
