The Women’s Empowerment Initiative expands and strengthens the services STRIVE provides to at-risk women with high barriers to employment. Women often struggle with gender-related family and workplace issues as they try to overcome poverty, homelessness,insufficient skills,domestic violence,and long-term unemployment.


The Women’s Empowerment Initiative helps our female participants successfully transition into the workforce through a combination of skills training,mentoring, case management,job placement, and other special support services for women.


Research indicates that educating women results in multiple long-term benefits for a family and community. Once a woman is securely placed in a living wage job, a host of positive forces are activated– her housing becomes more stable, her children perform better in school, and her family’s health improves.
